Creating a New Account - Logging in to Reviews.com
Why create an account?
Create a Reviews.com account and discover the premium Reviews.com features.
Basic features of Reviews.com, open to all users, do not require an account
and allow viewing content and performing some simple searches. Create
an account, and you will have access to premium features, such as posting
to the Reviews.com forums, personalizing viewing preferences, saving searches,
and receiving e-mail alerts when new items in your area of interest are
published.

When will I need to log in?
You will not be prompted to log in or create a new account until you
attempt to add to a forum, save a setting, or create an alert. The Reviews.com
areas that require a login are:
- Forums: To reply to an existing forum, create a new thread,
invite someone to a forum, suggest a forum or add a forum to your alert
profile you must first log in. There is no need to log in to read, browse,
search, or find a similar forum.
- SmartBox/Alerting: Your SmartBox contains your personalized
preferences and alert settings. You must create an account and login
before using these features.

Logging in with an existing account
- Before accessing premium features you will be brought to the Log
In page.
- If you already have created your Reviews.com account enter your User
ID and Password and click on the Log In button.
- If you are a member of the ACM click on the ACM Member link.
You will be brought to a login page at the ACM site.
- Select Save ID and Password if you want the system to remember
you and automatically log you in.
Note: If you are on a computer shared with others do not select
this option.

Forgot Password
If you have a Reviews.com account but have forgotten your user id or
password click on the Forgot Password link. You will be brought
to the Forgot User ID or Password page.
If you have forgotten your User ID:
- Click on the Forgot Password link from the Log In page.
- Enter the e-mail address you used when you registered at Reviews.com
and click the Submit button. Your User ID will be mailed to you.
If you have forgotten your password:
- Click on the Forgot Password link from the Log In page.
- Enter your User ID or E-Mail address in the proper
fields.
Note: Be sure to enter the e-mail address you used when you registered
at Reviews.com.
- Click the Submit button. A link will be mailed to you. Follow
the link to create a new password. For security reasons, Reviews.com
passwords cannot be sent to you.

Creating a new Account
If you do not have a password and user ID you must create a new account.
Scroll down to the Quick Account Set Up section.
- Fill in your name and e-mail address in the proper fields. All of
these fields are required. Note: All e-mails from Reviews.com
(e-mail alerts, forgot password links, forgotten user ids) will be sent
to this address.
- Create a distinctive User ID and Password. User IDs
are limited to 20 characters, letters or numbers, but no spaces or special
characters are allowed.
Note: For convenience, you can use your e-mail address (up to
the @ symbol) as your User ID.
- Passwords must be between 6 and 20 characters long, and not contain
spaces or special characters.
Note: For security reasons, do not use your User ID as your Password.
- Both your User ID and password are case sensitive.
- Retype your password and create a password hint. This hint
will be used to confirm your identity if you forget your password.
- Choose a Primary and Secondary interest from the drop-down
list. These choices will form the basis of your Alerting and SmartBox
settings.
Note: You can change or add to these settings in your Alert
Profile. For more information consult the section on Alerting.
- Select an Affiliation and Professional Level from the
drop-down lists (optional).
- Click the checkbox if you wish to receive alerts via e-mail.
- Click on the Log In button. Your new password and user ID will
be ready for use immediately.
