The Good

Tried-and-true interface

If you’re a Microsoft Outlook user, Maximizer CRM Live will be an easy product to navigate. It contains modules such as Calendar, Quotas, and Knowledge Base down the left-hand panel, as well as a menu bar on top containing a small group of tabs for personal preferences, help, and links to Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. You can also hide the left panel to gain a larger workspace. The list of records is in one windowpane on top, and the details of particular records are displayed at the bottom. There are separate tabs to organize the data into history, notes, documents, and custom fields to record additional information. This enables you to easily filter down each record and see the pertinent details without having to switch to another page.

You can easily configure dashboards in Maximizer CRM Live to give you visibility into the key performance indicators you need to help make better decisions. This includes charts, thermometers, and tables that can be exported to Excel for further analysis. Maximizer offers over 175 built-in reports that are shared in various formats including PDF, XLS, XML, HTML, and Word. You can also automatically send updated reports to individuals on a scheduled basis.

Full mobile access

You can view and update data in Maximizer CRM Live using a smartphone such as the iPhone, Android, and Blackberry, or a tablet such as the iPad, Android, and BlackBerry Playbook. This even includes access to your dashboards, giving you visibility into your business metrics on the go.

Seamless integration with Microsoft products

Maximizer CRM Live plays nice with Microsoft products, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel. Copying and pasting from your Outlook to Maximizer is not needed, as both are synchronized. You can read Outlook messages inside Maximizer and save customer records to Maximizer from Outlook through a toolbar. The same goes for Word and Excel. One-click exporting of data is available to better personalize letters and analyze data.

Lengthy subscription requirement

Read the fine print before deciding on Maximizer CRM Live. The company locks you in by requiring payments to be made on an annual basis and a minimum subscription length of two years. Other CRM vendors typically require a one-year contract. To ensure Maximizer is the best option for you, it’s best to fully utilize the company’s 30-day free trial before making the commitment.

Lack of key support channels

There are no dedicated forums for Maximizer CRM Live, nor can you submit and manage help tickets through a customer service portal. However, you can get unlimited phone, email, and live chat support Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. PT, with a two-business-day response time.

Limited browser compatibility

Maximizer CRM Live only runs on Internet Explorer and Firefox. This may be a deal breaker for those companies with heavy staff usage on other browsers such as Chrome.

Slight lag time in between loading records

There’s a noticeable lag time when the system refreshes the page with new data. This is a potential issue from a user perspective, as people generally expect to have information quickly available with no delay.

Poor Social CRM capabilities

You can view LinkedIn profiles from within Maximizer CRM, but there’s no further integration with social media sites, like Facebook or Twitter. If it is important to you to stay engaged with your customers through social outlets, Maximizer is not a good option for you.
