Protect Your Bubble Review
Specialty insurance provider Protect Your Bubble has four different plans available to suit pets of all ages and owners of all budgets. However, pets with hereditary or congenital conditions may have to purchase a more expensive plan to get coverage.
Policy for accidents only
Protect Your Bubble’s Safety policy is a good option if you’re just looking for a basic pet insurance plan to have on hand in case of emergencies. It gives you $2,500 per incident for medical bills associated with accidents and injuries. For example, this coverage covers issues like broken bones or swallowed poison. The plan doesn’t offer any coverage for illnesses but it’s also much cheaper than their other policies. This makes the Safety plan a great choice for individuals on a budget.
Superb wellness coverage
Complete wellness coverage can be added to your Protect Your Bubble pet insurance policy for an additional monthly fee. This optional add-on covers all sorts of routine and wellness care procedures and treatments that cannot be found with a traditional pet insurance policy. Services like vaccines, dental cleanings, and spaying/neutering procedures are all included in the wellness package. Not everyone may feel this type of coverage is necessary for their pet, but it’s great to see Protect Your Bubble making it available as an add-on for those who are interested.
Covers behavioral therapy costs
In addition to paying for any accidents or illnesses that may befall your pet, Protect Your Bubble also covers any treatment your dog or cat needs due to a behavioral issue. Perhaps your dog or cat is ruining the furniture or suffers from separation anxiety. Taking care of these problems requires meeting with a veterinarian, therapy, and possibly some medication, and the associated costs can add up quickly. If you have a pet suffering from a behavioral issue, it’s in your best interest to choose a policy that offers this coverage to make sure your pet gets the proper treatment while saving you some money.
Generous multi-pet discount
Protect Your Bubble gives you 10% off your monthly premiums if you insure more than one pet with them. As far as discounts go, this one is fairly impressive for the pet insurance industry since it’s generally hard to find savings of greater than 5%. This discount only applies to the Essential, Plus, and Premier level plans, however, so keep this in mind when reviewing their policy options.
Get a quote from anywhere
If you’re not near a computer, you can still get a Protect Your Bubble pet insurance quote through their mobile app available for Android and iPhones. The quote tool on the app is very similar to the one on Protect Your Bubble’s website and can be completed relatively quickly. Just enter in some basic information about your pet, select the level of coverage you want, and purchase it on the spot. The app also provides some useful FAQs and information about filing a claim. Mobile apps aren’t all that common among pet insurance providers and, though its features are mostly limited to sign-up, it’s still something to factor into your decision-making process.
No choice of copay
No matter what Protect Your Bubble pet insurance plan you choose, you have to pay a 10% copay for any veterinary treatment your dog or cat receives. Most companies give you a choice in how much you want to pay for your copay and a few allow you to not have a copay at all. Choosing a higher copay is also a nice option to have if you’re trying to lower your premiums. However, Protect Your Bubble’s copay is relatively low and shouldn’t pose a problem for most people.
Hereditary/congenital conditions not covered on all plans
Protect Your Bubble only provides coverage for hereditary or congenital conditions on the Plus and Premier plans. This shouldn’t concern you unless your pet has a hereditary or congenital condition, in which case you’ll either want to avoid the Safety and Essential plans offered by Protect Your Bubble, or choose a different company that provides coverage for these types of conditions on every plan.
