Protect Your Bubble Review
Specialty insurance provider Protect Your Bubble offers annual and single-trip plans, making them one of the best options out there for frequent travelers.
Protect Your Bubble’s multi-trip insurance covers you for as many trips as you wish to take within a 12-month period. You get the same protection you would receive with their single-trip policies, including emergency medical, trip cancellation and interruption, and lost or stolen baggage coverage. Depending on how frequently you travel, this could end up saving you quite a bit of money. This type of coverage is not that easy to find in the travel insurance industry, so if you think it might be worth taking advantage of, Protect Your Bubble may be the right company for you.
Purchase your policy from anywhere
If you don’t have access to a computer, you can always buy your Protect Your Bubble travel insurance policy from a smartphone or tablet. Policies can be purchased at any point prior to your trip, including on the day of your departure. Getting a quote and purchasing a plan can be completed in minutes using Protect Your Bubble’s Quick Quote tool. Just enter in trip dates, destination, travelers’ ages, and cost. Then, choose your plan and fill in your personal and payment information, and you’re all set.
Easy to file a claim
Protect Your Bubble has a streamlined claims process to help you get your payment quickly following an incident. Just print off the form you need, fill it out, and gather the proper documentation. You can then submit your claims via email, fax, or regular mail. Once your claim is approved, you can expect to receive your payment within two business days. If at any point during the process you become confused or have a question, you can contact Protect Your Bubble and they will assist you so you get your claims filed quickly and correctly.
Identity theft protection
If you become a victim of identity theft during your vacation, Protect Your Bubble assists you with reclaiming your identity at no additional cost. As a part of this service, Protect Your Bubble notifies creditors of the situation and helps you obtain your free credit reports from the three credit bureaus. If necessary, they also assist you with placing security freezes on your credit files to prevent further fraudulent charges. While not a central part of a travel insurance policy, this extra service helps put your mind at ease so you can relax and enjoy your vacation.
As part of their travel services, Protect Your Bubble offers roadside assistance, including towing, locksmith services, and more. You can only take advantage of the roadside assistance if you’re traveling somewhere in the U.S., but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s still a nice resource to have on your side. As with the identity theft resolution service, roadside assistance doesn’t directly impact Protect Your Bubble’s travel insurance itself, but it’s nice to see them offer these extras to their customers.
Limited trip delay coverage
In the event that your trip is delayed six or more hours, Protect Your Bubble reimburses you for food, lodging, and local transportation costs. However, there is a limit on this reimbursement of $100 per day. While this is certainly better than nothing, it doesn’t compare to some other companies in the industry, which offer $200 per day. If you’re traveling alone or with one other person, you may be able to get by on $100, but if you’re traveling with your whole family, that $100 could get used up quickly. This is something you should be aware of when choosing a travel insurance provider, but it will probably not be a deal breaker.
No baggage delay coverage for basic plan
Although Protect Your Bubble does provide coverage for lost, damaged, or stolen luggage, they only reimburse their Deluxe plan customers for baggage delays. This is unusual since most of the other travel insurance providers include this service with all of their plans. If you’re interested in having this type of protection but aren’t willing to pay extra for the Deluxe plan, you might be better off choosing another company as your travel insurance provider.
