The Good

Calorie goal workouts:

If you're trying to lose weight, a calorie goal workout could be exactly what you need. The SOLE F63 treadmill allows you to choose from six different calorie workouts in addition to the other onboard workouts and the manual mode. While any treadmill workout is sure to facilitate weight loss, having specially designed calorie workouts can make that process much easier.

Quiet motor and track:

For many people, listening to music while working out is just another part of the routine. The last thing you want is to have your music drowned out by the sound of a loud treadmill motor. That shouldn't be a concern with the SOLE F63. Its track and motor are designed to run quietly so you can keep your attention focused on your music or the TV instead of the treadmill.

Message Board instructions:

Let's face it, treadmills can be complicated sometimes. But constantly reaching for the user manual to learn how to use a certain function is annoying. SOLE has come up with a way to fix that with their Message Board feature. If you want to know how to do something, all you have to do is press the button and the Message Board will scroll instructions across the display screen. This is an extremely helpful feature for those who are new to treadmills and may not know how to use all of the different programs the machine offers.

Controls on the handrails:

The SOLE F63 treadmill offers speed and incline controls on the handrails as well as the numeric options on the console. Having access to handrail controls makes it easier to change speed and incline mid-workout. While not a crucial feature to the operation of the treadmill, it is definitely something to consider when choosing a home treadmill.

The Bad

Missing some workouts:

Overall, the SOLE F63 treadmill has a good variety of workouts, offering weight loss, heart rate, and endurance workouts. However, there are a few common workout programs that are missing from the lineup. This treadmill does not provide any interval workouts, which may come as a disappointment to some. It also doesn't have any preset distance workouts, though that may not be as big of a concern as the user can just choose the manual mode and walk or run until they reach the target distance. For those looking for a wide range of workout programs, the SOLE F63 may still be a good fit, despite these missing options, though you should certainly take into consideration the types of workouts you are looking for when making your purchasing decision.

No shock absorption system:

Running on a treadmill can be hard on your body. That's why many treadmills have shock absorption systems built right into the deck to help reduce your impact and lower your chances of experiencing pain or discomfort from using the treadmill. Some treadmills even allow you to adjust the cushioning to your liking. Unfortunately, the SOLE F63 does not have any sort of shock absorption system, which may be a problem for some people, especially those expecting to run on the treadmill frequently.

Lacking user IDs and tracking software:

Being able to track your workouts over time, record your personal bests, and save your personal workout preferences are all nice features offered by the best home treadmills. However, none of these features are available on the SOLE F63 treadmill. If these features are unimportant to you, this omission should not be a big concern, but if they are important, you may be better off shopping around.
