ReadyTalk streamlines communications by integrating with popular services and simplifying information sharing. The plans are easily scalable to fit small or large businesses, but the price might be a little steep for those on a budget.

The Good

Packages for small and large organizations

ReadyTalk offers two different web conferencing solutions: one allows up to 25 participants and one allows up to 150. The Web Meeting Pro 25 plan is perfect for smaller companies who need an online workspace where employees can meet in teams to work on projects or connect with clients. If this isn’t enough room, upgrade to the Web Meeting Pro 150 plan. This is a better alternative for larger organizations because you’re able to connect with more people at one time. And if you still need more room, check out ReadyTalk’s webinar subscriptions, which let you host online conferences of thousands of people at once.

Share desktop and applications with one click

If you need to show your participants something on your desktop during a presentation, it’s as simple as clicking on the Share Desktop button to display your screen in the main window. Sharing applications works in a similar way, except you click the Share Applications button and choose the application you’d like to share from the list. This is a helpful alternative if you don’t want to share your entire desktop with a prospective client. Granting remote control of your desktop is also easy, and it’s a very useful tool if you’re co-presenting with another person and need to switch control back and forth.

Connect to the services you already use

ReadyTalk integrates with several popular business tools to help you increase your organization’s overall productivity. Start off by scheduling your meeting using the ReadyTalk toolbar for Microsoft Office or Google Calendar. You don’t have to log in to your ReadyTalk account in order to get started, and the meeting is automatically added to your calendar. The web conferencing service also integrates with Salesforce, one of the most popular CRM software on the market. This enables you to generate new leads and all of their information is automatically transferred to Salesforce, so you don’t have to do it manually. If you conduct any polls or surveys during your meeting, that data is also easily sent to Salesforce for later viewing.

Record and share meetings with others

To get started recording your ReadyTalk meeting, all you need to do is click on the Record button in the meeting room. Conduct your meeting as normal and, at the end, hit the Stop button. Your recording is automatically saved to your ReadyTalk account for you to view or share later. ReadyTalk is also one of the rare companies to offer built-in editing tools, which are handy if you want to shorten your video or highlight something important. Share the recording by either uploading it to your website or sending the link. Not every business is going to find it necessary to record every one of their meetings, but if, for example, a team member is unable to attend the meeting, having access to a recording is an easy way for that person to catch up on what they missed.

Online resources minimize learning curve

ReadyTalk’s extensive collection of online learning materials make it easy to get started, even if you’ve never set foot in a web conferencing room before. The FAQ page is the best place to begin for simple questions. But for more complex issues or instructions on how to use specific features, ReadyTalk’s knowledge base or user guides are where you should look. For those who learn best by seeing the software in action, there are a few video tutorials as well. Live training options are completely free and last for about an hour, and the session schedule is available on the company website. ReadyTalk’s services are fairly intuitive, but if you’re new and want to learn quickly, the resources are readily available.

The Bad

Somewhat pricey

The monthly price for ReadyTalk’s web conferencing service is about $50 for 25 participants, which is significantly above average for the industry. Storage space also costs you a small fee, usually a few cents per minute of video per month. This could easily add up over time and make ReadyTalk too expensive for some businesses. However, there are things you can do to make their service more affordable. Consider paying for a year of service upfront (versus paying monthly) because you earn a 20% discount that way. And the cost of storage space is easily eliminated by downloading your meeting recordings and storing them on your own hard drive rather than your ReadyTalk account. If ReadyTalk is still too expensive for you, check out a company like Fuze, which offers more affordable rates and a free plan for teams of up to 25 participants.

URL is not customizable

ReadyTalk doesn’t give their web conferencing customers the option to create custom URLs for their personal meeting space. This is a fairly standard feature of most web meeting services, and ReadyTalk actually does offer it with their webinar plans. It would be an added benefit if they extended this option to all of their services. A custom URL is a simple way to rebrand your meeting space and give your customers a more professional experience. It’s also easier to remember the meeting URL if it’s a custom phrase rather than a string of random numbers. When it comes down to it, though, this isn’t a make-or-break feature, so it shouldn’t have a significant impact on whether or not ReadyTalk is for you.
