As you likely saw in our live blog, LG’s bringing some serious showstoppers to this year’s CES. From the somewhat unsettling CLOi robot to the world’s first rollable OLED TV, we’re starting to wonder if there’s anything LG can’t do.
Obviously LG was our first stop after the hype the company built yesterday at its conference and keynote. It should be no surprise to anyone that one of the biggest draws is LG’s 88-inch 8K OLED. The first of its kind, the TV features over 33 million self-emitting pixels and an incredibly crisp display. Let’s talk about that size, though — 88 inches is huge. It’s hard to see that from the pictures, but it’s remarkable in person.
Judging from the size and quality, we wouldn’t be surprised if this TV ends up costing more than current high-end TVs on the market. LG expects the TV to launch in the second half of 2019. There’s no word on price just yet so stay tuned for that information. In the meantime, LG’s 4K OLED TV is still pretty expensive, but highly rated.
We got up close with LG’s big screens during our tour of the company’s CES 2019 booth. Check it out in the video below.
