Covering hotels, air travel, and more, the best Citi® credit cards reward cardholders in numerous ways. All of the best Citi® credit cards provide competitive sign-up bonuses, and two of the cards offer 0% interest for a specified period for new cardholders. Two of the best Citi® credit cards offer bonus points on certain purchases, with the other offering a straightforward points rewards plan. Determining the best Citi® cards will largely depend on the purchasing behaviors and reward preferences of each potential cardholder.

The Citi® Hilton HHoners™ Visa Signature® Card is a travel credit card associated with Hilton hotels and tops the list of best Citi® credit cards. The main benefit of the Citi® Hilton HHonors™ Visa Signature® Card is the six points per dollar earned at hotels in the Hilton Worldwide Portfolio. Bonus points on purchases are not limited to Hilton Hotels, as cardholders can also capitalize on three points for every dollar spent at supermarkets, drugstores, and gas stations, as well as two points per dollar on every other purchase. The Hilton HHonors™ card does not charge an annual fee and comes with all the perks of a Visa Signature® card. The reward redemption options do hold the Citi® Hilton HHonors™ card back a bit, as the redemption options are relatively limited. The foreign currency transaction fee of 3% per transaction may also deter some cardholders. However, among travel credit cards, the Citi® Hilton HHonors™ Visa Signature ranks well, especially if the cardholder frequents Hilton hotels.

The Citi® ThankYou® Preferred Card makes it on the list of best Citi® credit cards by offering a straightforward points rewards program and solid rewards redemption options. New cardholders will be able to receive 15,000 bonus ThankYou® Points after spending $1,000 in the first three months of card ownership. One potential drawback of the ThankYou® Preferred Card is the lack of bonus rewards for common purchases. Many of the top rewards cards offer double and triple rewards for dining, groceries, gas, and other everyday purchases, while the Preferred Card only offers one point per dollar on all purchases. However, with a 0% introductory APR for twelve months (13.49% to 23.49% thereafter) and no annual membership fee, the ThankYou® Preferred Card has numerous positive features and will be a great fit for those looking for a hassle-free rewards card.

The Citi® Platinum Select®/AAdvantage® Visa Signature® is a competitive airline rewards credit card and rounds off the list of best Citi® credit cards. Those that fly American Airlines often will be pleased with the numerous flight benefits that accompany the card. For example, new cardholders will earn 30,000 American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles after spending $1,000 in purchases within the first three months of card membership. In addition, cardholders will receive priority boarding, with Group 1 privileges and and 25% savings on eligible in-flight purchases. One drawback of the card is the $95 annual membership fee; however, the fee is waived for the first year, giving ample time for the cardholder to determine if the card is the right fit. Overall, the Citi® Platinum Select®/AAdvantage® Visa Signature® Card is a well-rounded travel credit card, and is a good fit for the average consumer, and a great selection for American Airlines travellers.
