Convenient campaign tools and options

Updated interface

SugarCRM recently updated their user interface and combined three navigation bars into one. The menu consists of options like accounts, contacts, leads, opportunities, and several others. If you click on Accounts, for example, you are taken to a new screen with all of your account information. However, if you click on the the small arrow next to Accounts in the menu, a drop down list gives you the option to create a new account, view accounts, view account reports, and more. All of the other menu options operate in a similar manner, making it incredibly simple to navigate the software and get more work done.

Native mobile application with offline sync capabilities

You can access SugarCRM from a BlackBerry, iPhone, or iPad through a native application. This offers offline sync capabilities and essentially stores a copy of your data on your mobile device. If you’re always on the go, you will especially appreciate this tool.

Integration with Google, Microsoft, and email clients

You can easily integrate SugarCRM with Google Docs, which enables you to save documents in any one of your files on Google Docs, relate those files to the SugarCRM application, and access the same documents through SugarCRM. Microsoft Word and Excel are also supported by SugarCRM, enabling you to create mail merge documents and pull data to Excel for further analysis. SugarCRM also offers the ability to manage email from within the program, regardless of your email application. Microsoft Outlook, IBM Lotus Notes, Gmail, Yahoo! Considerable financial commitment

Regardless of the edition, SugarCRM requires a minimum commitment of five users and subscription term of one year. The annual contract requirement is typical in the CRM industry, as competitors such as Salesforce enforce the same contract length. However, the minimum commitment of five users prevents startups and small businesses from considering SugarCRM. Most CRM vendors just require one minimum user.

Varying levels of support

All paid editions have unlimited online and email support, but response times for technical issues range from four hours for Professional users, two hours for Corporate and Enterprise, and one hour for Ultimate. Phone support is only available to customers with Enterprise or Ultimate editions.
