ATC Brokers Review
ATC is a solid option if you want high-end trading tools in a non-dealing desk environment. However, bear in mind their high minimum deposit and weak educational resources.
No Dealing Desk environment
If you don’t want your broker to be able to trade against you, you can use ATC’s Straight Through Processing (STP) order system. Dealing desks control the bid ask spread and trade for their own account, sometimes against you. The STP model takes your order and posts it straight to other counterparties, thereby removing the account conflict of interest and saving you money.
Advanced order plug-ins
Traders looking for customizable orders and quick execution will like the advanced order plug-in on the MetaTrader 4 platform. This gives you one-click order execution and the ability to create multiple bracket orders for different execution strategies. Detach the advanced order window and place it anywhere in the system for a high degree of customization.
Since you spend most of your time analyzing trends, stochastics, and other indicators, you might not want to navigate to a separate window to place a forex trade. ATC in-chart trading lets you set your trade and send the order right from the chart window for fast execution.
Backtest strategies with Trading Station
ATC enables analytical traders to backtest their strategies before implementation. All the tools you need are standard in the Trading Station software. Customize settings and run simulations to obtain results on the strategy’s performance over time.
Highest minimum deposit
The minimum deposit at ATC brokers is $5,000, which is the highest among the reviewed forex brokers. This can be a barrier to opening an account at ATC. If you’re looking to commit smaller amounts to trading, plenty of forex brokers require as little as a $500 initial deposit. Try Forex.com, FXCM or MB Trading.
Subpar educational resources
While ATC provides videos on their platforms, the top forex brokers go to great lengths to provide videos, tutorials, and information not only on their trade platforms, but also on basic and advanced topics in forex trading. ATC falls behind in this category because all of their videos target their own trading platform and do little to educate you on markets or fundamentals of trading.
No Mac demo environment
Mac users need a way to demo the ATC environment on their Mac systems, but this currently does not exist even though the Trading Station web-based platform is Mac compatible. The only solution for Mac users to demo is to run a parallel environment, which may be more of a headache than a convenience. Good web-based demos for Macs can be found at Forex.com or FXCM.
