The Good

Multiple support options

Should any problems or difficulties arise, you can reach Nextiva through phone, email, live chat, and through their social media websites. Each of these support methods has benefits and potential drawbacks but, depending on your preference and the complexity of the issue, having the ability to choose the option best suited for you and your circumstances is incredibly helpful. It’s great to see Nextiva provide all the available options to suit a variety of needs.

Easily viewable faxes

Many online fax services make you download a fax before you can view it but, if you’re dealing with a high number of faxes, being able to skip the download and go straight to the fax in an internal viewer saves time and resources. Some organizations prefer to download every fax and then manage them on a local machine, which is also possible with Nextiva.

Clearly mapped sending process

When you send a fax, you are directed to a fax preparation screen. At the top of this screen is a menu that indicates the steps required to successfully send a fax. You are then guided through the sending process, which includes entering recipient info, attaching files, previewing, sending, and receiving confirmation. Having the process clearly defined helps minimize errors and assist those who may need a little extra guidance.

Relatively low price

At $4.95 per month, Nextiva’s single-user prepaid plan is particularly competitive and enables you to send 500 faxes each month, which is very reasonable. If you happen to exceed your monthly allotment, additional faxes only cost $0.03 each, which is considerably cheaper than many products on the market. For those who are looking to keep costs low, Nextiva makes a great choice.

Dynamic search capabilities

Nextiva enables you to search your faxes using a powerful set of filters. For example, you can filter according to a specified time period or according to fax number, fax CSID, tracking key, notes, and others. You can also limit your searches to a specific folder. These tools enable you to quickly locate faxes regardless of how many faxes are archived. This is a time-saving feature that many businesses and users will appreciate.

The Bad

Only five faxes displayed at one time

Although Nextiva provides straightforward tools next to each fax listing, including options to print, download, forward, delete, view the fax, assign a type and folder, and add notes, only five faxes are listed per page. You can move forward and backwards between each set of five faxes, but this limitation makes the browsing process clunky and more difficult.

Limited contact management features

With Nextiva, you won’t be able to import or export contacts lists or create and edit lists once they’re in. The only contact management feature Nextiva provides is the ability to input contact information manually. If you have a large contacts list already, manually entering the list may take a long time and introduce opportunity for inadvertent errors.
