Glasscubes Review

Glasscubes has a number of collaboration tools to help small teams organize basic projects, but the lack of mobile apps may be inconvenient for teams on the go.

The Good

Work online or in your email

Glasscubes integrates well with email, so instead of having to log into the system to create a task, you can just send it in an email to Glasscubes, and it will immediately be added to the system. If you have files attached to the email, these too will be uploaded to Glasscubes. In addition to creating tasks, you can also provide progress updates and respond to discussions right from your email inbox. With tools like these, you won’t have to login every time you need to make an update to your Glasscubes account.

Organize team members into groups

You can easily add certain team members to groups in Glasscubes and edit their permissions. If you have a large number of resources, this will be extremely valuable because rather than going through a long list and manually assigning people to a task or project, you can just assign it to the group that they are part of instead. You can also edit a whole group’s permissions if you don’t want to take the time to edit them individually. Though it may not seem like much, tools like this can do a lot to make managing your resources much easier, and they could save you a little bit of time, too.

Create documents within Glasscubes

Glasscubes has a really nice whiteboard feature that allows multiple team members to create and edit documents within the system. It will be especially appreciated for editing because you can immediately go to the document and begin making changes, instead of having to download the file, make your corrections, and upload the new version to Glasscubes again. You can do that, if you wish, but using the whiteboard is much faster and more convenient.

Get text reminders

If you have an important deadline or event coming up, you can count on Glasscubes to let you know through email notifications as well as text alerts. You can set these alerts up in your account, and then Glasscubes will send the text message right to your mobile phone. If you need a little help remembering deadlines and don’t check your emails as often as you should, this could be a lifesaver.

The Bad

No mobile apps

Though Glasscubes has a mobile website, they don’t have dedicated mobile apps for accessing tasks and project data on the go. This shouldn’t be a huge issue for most, but for teams that spend a lot of time out of the office, a dedicated mobile app would be best.
