Huddle offers a flexible, user-friendly design guaranteed to get you up and running fast, though prices run on the higher side.
Huddle’s project management software comes with an Adoption Guarantee, which says that if your organization hasn’t completely adopted the software after 90 days, you will be refunded for the three months that you’ve already paid. This isn’t something you’ll find with any other project management software, and it should make you feel confident that Huddle has done everything it can to ease the initial learning curve so that your organization can get up and running faster.
Store and manage files with ease
When you upload one or more files to a workspace in Huddle, they will be immediately added to the Files tab of your project. From there, it is easy to organize them by adding them to folders. You also have the option to attach a file to a particular task and the file will show up on that task page as well as in the Files tab. In addition, you can comment directly on the file, which helps keep all discussion organized in one place. Huddle also has version control, so you can upload multiple versions of the same file, and all of them will be tracked in the system.
Add custom task fields
Huddle allows you to add up to five custom fields per task to help you keep track of any information that you want, such as the estimated number of hours it will take to complete a task. Though you may not have a need for these custom fields, they are still a very nice option to have, and can really help you and your team stay organized when working on tasks and projects.
Control access to workspaces
As a project manager, you get to decide who can see certain projects and tasks and who can’t by setting permissions on subfolders, folders, and even entire workspaces. You can set a user’s permissions individually, or you can add them to a team and adjust the team’s permissions as a whole. This information can be updated at any time with just a few clicks, so it is always easy to manage what each employee has access to.
Customize the look and feel
Huddle lets you turn features on and off within your workspaces, so that you are viewing just the tools that you need, without extra clutter. It may seem like a small thing, but it could help keep you and your team more focused and organized. If you’re looking for a little more in terms of customization, then you should think about using Huddle’s advanced customization tools to redesign your account with your company colors and logo to make it fit in with your image.
Though Huddle is classified as a simple project management software, it charges even more than some comprehensive project management software, and that could put it out of reach for some organizations. You do get a large amount of file storage space with each plan as well as a reasonable number of projects, so it could be worth it for some people. However, if your budget is tight, there are several other choices out there that are much more affordable.
Resources can't track time
Huddle doesn’t have a time clock nor any place for you to enter how much time you spent on a particular task. This information can be very useful for determining how much effort was spent on a task, and for scheduling future projects.
No Gantt chart
There is no way to view your projects in a timeline view because Huddle does not have Gantt charts. This could make scheduling future projects a little difficult because it will be harder to get an overview of what tasks are underway at certain times. If you have several projects to keep track of, it may be better to look into other options instead.
Cannot generate reports
You cannot generate any sort of reports in Huddle, so if you want to analyze your project data, you will have to use another program. This could be an issue if you like to use the data you’ve gathered about tasks, budgets, and resources to help you make decisions about upcoming projects. However, if you’re just looking for a software that will help you and your team members stay organized, Huddle may still make a good option.
