Esurance has some very nice policy coverage options that can help protect against bodily injury or property damage liability. If you get in a serious accident, Esurance will even pay for medical bills and lost wages. You can also get additional coverage to protect against damage caused by an uninsured or underinsured motorist. Coverage doesn't have to be limited to your own vehicle, either. If you have a rental car that gets damaged or stolen, Esurance will take care of the repairs for that as well.

Variety of ways to save:

Esurance offers several great discounts to its auto insurance customers, including a multiple vehicle discount and 10% off your policy just for prepaying. If you don't drive your car frequently, you may also be eligible for a low mileage discount. One really unique way to save is Esurance's Like to Save™ discount. All you have to do is like Esurance on Facebook and you'll earn 10% off your premium. It's that easy. If you're a safe driver, you'll be able to save even more, especially if you complete a defensive driving course. So many available discounts can only mean big savings for you, so it is worth your time to at least get a quote from Esurance.

Very helpful in the event of an accident:

If you get into an accident or your car breaks down, Esurance's Roadside Assistance will send someone out to help you wherever you are. They will also pay to have your vehicle towed to a repair facility, and if you need to pick up a rental car while yours is being fixed, Esurance will reimburse you for the costs. Should the worst happen and you or one of your passengers get seriously injured in a car accident, Esurance will also assist with the medical bills, leaving you with one less thing to worry about.

E-Star Direct Repair Program:

If your car gets damaged in an accident, your Esurance claims representative will help you find a facility near you to get it fixed. If you choose a facility in their E-Star Direct Repair Program, the repairs are guaranteed for the entire time that you own the vehicle. Also, while your vehicle is getting repaired, you can view photos online to see the progress. Tools like these show that Esurance is really going above and beyond to help you get your car repaired quickly, so you can get back on the road.

THE BAD

Vehicle coverage could be improved:

Esurance does offer collision and comprehensive coverage for your vehicle, along with GAP insurance, but they are still missing a few important options. Mechanical repair costs that go beyond routine maintenance are not covered, and any personal belongings in your car won't be covered either. If you total your brand new car, GAP insurance will cover the balance of your loan, but Esurance doesn't offer new car replacement. This could be a concern for some people, and if you would feel more comfortable with a company that offers the best vehicle coverage, you can take a look at Farmers Insurance or Amica auto insurance.

Must pay online:

Esurance allows you to pay online or with a credit card, and even set up automatic payments, but you can't mail in payments or pay over the phone. This is a relatively minor criticism because most people will probably prefer to pay online, but most other auto insurance providers give their customers several options to pay. While this is something to be aware of, it shouldn't be a deal breaker when choosing an auto insurance company.
